Well it's official. I no longer live in Utah. I said goodbye to the beautiful mountains, deep blue sky, and lack of bugs and hello to the Texas-sized summer storms, beautiful sunsets, and humidity of Houston. While I will miss the things listed above (and the friends I've made) I am SO excited to be back in Texas. On my way down to Houston I was able to spend lots of time with my family in Dallas, and I was even able to do a photo shoot with my favorite little family! My dear sister and her wonderful husband have the cutest kids I've ever seen. I may be a little biased, but really, they're adorable. I love this little family. Between my sweet, caring sister, her thoughtful, fun husband, and some of the most fun, rambunctious, heart-breakingly sweet kids ever, what's not to love?

Just a few days after little Jared was born, I had the opportunity to go to his home and take some pictures of this little angel. This little man is lucky to be born into a home with so much love. To Katie and Dean, congratulations on this new stage of your life!
I met Val at church and knew I wanted to do a maternity shoot with her. She is so fun and spunky! I knew if I could get her in front of a camera it would be easy work to let her energy shine through. And easy work it was. Val and Stephen were SO much fun to work with. Congratulations on this new chapter of your life, guys! I hope you have tons of fun with your new little girl! I've been privileged to get to know Katie over the past few years. We were in the same major, but I hadn't really met her until we worked together. I quickly learned one thing: Katie is awesome. She has such a witty, quirky sense of humor, and I just love being around her. When I first met Dean, there was no question in my mind that these two were meant to be together. They are so wonderfully comfortable with each other. It was a joy to be able to take their maternity pictures. Congratulations you two! I wish you all the best with your little boy! Three years ago an amazing woman who lived in my building asked me to be her roommate. I eagerly said YES; I knew she was the kind of person I wanted to be around. That decision has shaped my life in SO many ways, and I couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity I've had to grow with and learn from Emma Jo (yes, we're both named Emma). Emma Jo, thank you, thank you, thank you for being such an amazing friend and confidant to me. I can't imagine what my life would be like if you hadn't been in it.
Emma Jo is one of the most fun, down-to-earth people I know. After our year as roommates, Emma Jo married this pretty fantastic man named Jeff. They really are a perfect match for each other. I feel so blessed to have been a part of their lives. I was so excited when Emma Jo asked me if I could take some pictures of her and Jeff in their graduation gowns! What a fun idea! We did some portraits as well, just showcasing how adorable they are together. We started in the periodicals section of the library (where Emma Jo and Jeff spent quite a bit of their dating life) and then headed around campus, drinking in the fact that we were DONE! Congratulations, guys! I wish you nothing but the very best in your new, real-world life! :) I was thrilled when Renee asked me to take her senior pictures for her. Being a fellow Food Science major, I've had the privilege of being in several of Renee's classes over the years. She is such a fun, spunky person and I had an absolute blast with her during this shoot. Here are a few snapshots of the day!
The Maxwell family has welcomed a new addition to their life, and I had the honor of documenting it. Just a few days after little baby Carter came into the world, I made my way over to his new home to capture some adorable shots of him and his family. You can just see the love held in this little family. I wish you guys all the best in this new chapter of your life! Thank you for my little part in it. :)
Confession: I've been holding onto these pictures for a while. I'm sorry for keeping them from you. But guess what! I am officially a college graduate! So expect more frequent posts of all the fun shoots I get to do! (I've got 3 coming to you soon!)
I'm so glad my good friends, Carissa and Brennen, asked me to do their engagement pictures. They are so fun and so obviously in love! I got to spend a great afternoon with them, running around a park in the Canyon and playing on top of a frozen lake! The frozen lake was GORGEOUS! I really wish I had discovered it sooner, but at least I was able to use it to capture some great pictures of the happy couple! Take a look at how adorable they are! This Saturday I was privileged to take engagements for my dear friends Carissa and Brennen!
I'm working on your pictures now, but I wanted to give you a sneak peak! Full blog post to come. :) This past Sunday I had the privilege of working with the beautiful Maxwell family, who is expecting their first baby in just a few weeks! Let me tell you, their little boy is a lucky one! Natalie and Trent are fun, loving, and energetic people, and it really was a treat to work with them! We went to a blue wall in Provo to celebrate the fact that they are having a little boy and then drove on over to Rock Canyon Park. We finished off at an orchard in town where there were some pretty killer soft light streams. Such a fun shoot with an adorable couple! Natalie and Trent: Thanks for letting me be a part of this wonderful experience! A photog side note: This was my first time shooting in RAW and I LOVED it! Oh man! Batch editing RAW photos in Adobe Bridge is my new favorite thing! You retain so much of the original quality this way! If you want to know how to do that, there's a super helpful website here about it. I don't know why I was afraid to try this before, but I'm definitely sticking with it now! Also, all of the photo collages in this post were made using http://www.picmonkey.com. Super easy and cute set ups! Anyways, leave me a comment and let me know what you think! Well thank you guys for a wonderful shoot! P.S. More of these lovebird's pictures can be found under the Babies&Bellies tab on the website!! Check them out! :)
